Birth control is being able control the number of pregnancies by planning to use some form of contraceptive.
This medication is an antifungal agent used to treat infections in certain areas of the body caused by yeast and yeast-like organisms.
This medication is a hormone and is given to women who no longer produce the proper amount. It is used to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes), for brittle bones (osteoporosis), and treats certain cancers in both men and women.
By using a contraceptive method, you prevent pregnancies. Many contraceptive approaches are available, with varying degrees of effectiveness.
Motrin (Ibuprofen) is used to relieve the pain, tenderness, inflammation (swelling), and stiffness caused by arthritis and gout. It is also used to reduce fever and to relieve headaches, muscle aches, menstrual pain, aches and pains from the common cold, backache, and pain after surgery or dental work.
Naprosyn (Naproxen) is used to relieve the pain, tenderness, inflammation (swelling), and stiffness caused by gout, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. It also is used to relieve other pain, including muscle and menstrual pain and pain after surgery, dental work, or childbirth.
Ortho Evra Patch is another form of contraceptive, worn as a patch containing estrogen and progestin that is applied to the upper body, upper outer arm, abdomen, or buttocks. A new patch is applied once weekly for a total of three weeks. During the fourth week, no patch is worn and menstruation occurs.
One such method of birth control is Ortho Tri-Cyclen, taken by mouth daily. This contraceptive drug works by preventing sperm from reaching the unfertilized eggs, preventing implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus, or preventing ovulation. It can also prevent acne by balancing hormone levels.
Oral contraceptives (birth-control pills) are used to prevent pregnancy. Estrogen and progestin are two female sex hormones. Combinations of estrogen and progestin work by preventing the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation) and changing the cervical mucus and the lining of the uterus. Oral contraceptives are a very effective method of birth control, but they do not prevent the spread of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
This medication is used to slow down the growth of unwanted facial hair in women. It interferes with an enzyme needed in the skin for hair growth but does not remove hair. This drug is not for use in children under the age of 12 years.
YASMIN is the only OC with the novel, dual-property progestin, drospirenone - The only progestin that has AntiMineralocorticoid and AntiAndrogenic* properties. Drospirenone represents a unique class of progestins with an entirely different molecular structure and activity profile than the currently available progestins. Drospirenone is an analogue of spironolactone.
